CABC Curriculum

The CABC Trauma course training is matched to the UK JCST Core Surgical Curriculum. It satisfies the trauma course requirement for Core Surgery, Higher Surgical Training and CCT. This course delivers appropriate progressive training for all those who work in a Level 1 (US) / Major Trauma Centre (UK) or Major Trauma Network.

Matching to other professional group curricula is in progress: For Emergency Medicine, Paramedical, Level 2 Trauma Nursing and other Allied Health Professional groups. Please get in contact if you are from any other professional group.

1. Step One - Online learning

Complete all of the course preparation in One Day

Learn all about trauma in our online learning environment. Work your way through short modules that can be achieved in one day, or spread out to fit in with your life. This is expected to occupy the equivalent of a single day of study leave (8hours).

Complete all of the modules within 6 months and attend the face to face course within 2 years.

Online learning delivered via our Virtual Learning Environment, which will be made available to candidates upon registration.

2. Step Two - Book onto a course

Your CABC Trauma Course is valid for four years.

However, if you join the faculty and deliver a minimum of four courses over the next 3 years, you will automatically recertify. No extra courses to attend (or pay for) to recertify.
