Our Mission

CABC Trauma is a hybrid course created to meet the training demands of Trauma Team Members in a UK Major Trauma Centre. The CABC Trauma course teaches an organised system of assessment, recognition of injury severity and how to deliver life and limb threatening interventions to trauma patients.

The CABC Trauma Course recognises that optimal trauma care is delivered by trained, multidisciplinary teams from multiple specialties, and the course is designed with these teams in mind. Individuals can demonstrate their competencies in essential and advanced trauma skills, or use the course as a training opportunity to learn these skills and systems from our faculty of surgeons and trauma specialists.

The course is suitable for all resource settings and acknowledges WHO Global Emergency and Trauma Care Initiatives and principle in essential trauma care, and the NHS 'Greener Operations' principles for Sustainable Peri-Operative Practice.

Why choose the CABC Trauma Course?

The CABC Trauma course training is linked to the JCST Core Surgical Curriculum, and meets the requirements for a trauma course for Core Surgery, Higher Specialty training and CCT. Matching to other curricula is in progress.

Use the training to improve your trauma knowledge or keep up to date. Attend the course to learn new skills or to demonstrate competency in core trauma skills and earn some WBAs.

The course can be adapted to use locally available resources and can be delivered at low cost. Please get in touch if you are interested in delivering the CABC Trauma Course in your local centre.
